Music for Preschoolers "Cycle of The Seasons"
3 1/2 to Five Years
(45 minutes: 30 min dropoff final 15 min with adult)

Children use their imagination on a journey through the seasons as they become immersed in the offerings of the world around them. This class explores creative movement, storytelling, imaginative play, focused listening, sensorial games and instruments, all within a musical context. Build on your child's sense of community through music making.
Musical "toolbox": longer attention span, tuneful singing, steady beat, reading/writing of graphic notation, listening skills and learning and expressing musical language.

Mondays 1:15pm, Wednesday 11am (forming class)
Children continue building their Musical "Toolbox" with singing and movement, ensemble-playing, ear-training, music reading/writing and musical games. This class stimulates and enhances the areas of the brain responsible for creative expression, concentration, memory and empathy. It offers a sequential pathway to music literacy that prepares a child for successful future study on any instrument. Exploration is done through a journey of our home environments including: Home Place, Woodlands, Cattail Marsh and Meadow.
Musical "Toolbox": ensemble work, ear-training, writing, reading, improvisation and exploration, learn instrument groups.
$200 Winter Tuition (13 weeks)

Pre-keyboard skills class

WINTER TOTAL IS $259
Children learn musical concepts and language through a world culture exploration including: British Isles, Amerindian, African-American, and Germany. They build again on the Musical "Toolbox" with continued ear-training, music reading/writing, musical games and introduction to the Glockenspiel. Games, dancing, story-telling, musical exploration and active listening are a large part of this class. It offers a sequential pathway to music literacy that prepares a child for successful future study on any instrument. This class is required for children under age 6 1/2 to enter Fall '10's Keyboard training class.
Musical "Toolbox": ensemble work, ear-training, writing, reading, improvisation, fine motor pre-keyboard work including the glockenspiel.

Music Time!
18months-5 Years
(40 min with adult)
A musical experience for children based on folk songs from around the world. This class involves dancing, rocking, finger plays, bouncing, ear-training patterns, focused listening and instrument play. A special explorative class for special kids!
Musical "Toolbox": growing attention span, focused listening, introduction to basic musical language, rhythmic and melodic internalization and exploration.
